The site
One editor, fourteen properties, four categories that have almost nothing in common.
This site exists because four very different answers to one question — where should a person sleep tonight — are almost never written about in the same place. The trade press splits them: design magazines take the art hotels, travel desks take the ice hotels, the capsule format gets filed under budget, and casino properties get written up by people interested in the gaming floor rather than the building. Put side by side, they argue with each other usefully.
So there are four indexes here and nothing else. Each entry is prose, because a specification table cannot explain why a building is the way it is, and a score cannot either.
We describe the property, its setting and the idea it is built around, keeping to facts that hold across seasons rather than details that move with a rate calendar. Where something varies — by branch, by season, by operator policy — the entry says so instead of picking a convenient number. Where a property sits awkwardly between two categories, the entry says that too.
Not a booking agent, not a reservation system, not an affiliate storefront. No inventory, no reservations, no prices. Entries are not placements and cannot be bought. Hotel names and marks belong to their owners and appear here as editorial reference, not as an association.
The casino index runs on the same terms as the rest of the site: those properties are covered as hotels, with the gaming floor named as one feature of a larger building. Nothing here promotes gaming or explains how to take part in it.
The index is geo-neutral on purpose. Properties are chosen for what they demonstrate about their category, not for the market they sit in, and nothing here is written from the vantage point of one country.
Corrections come first. Tell us what and where, and we will check it against the property.
