Reading index — fourteen properties

Four categories that answer the same question incompatibly.

A tower converted from a grain silo, a moulded pod off a Kyoto arcade, a riverside resort with a gaming floor on the ground level, a chamber carved from a frozen river. All of them are hotels. Almost nothing else about them lines up, and that disagreement is what this index is for.

How to read this site

  1. Written, not ratedEvery entry is prose. No stars, no scores, no aggregated guest reviews, no ranked order.
  2. Editorial, not soldNo property pays to appear. Entries exist because they demonstrate something about their category.
  3. Read here, book elsewhereWe hold no inventory and quote no prices. Any stay is arranged with the hotel, on its own terms.

An index kept deliberately small.

Fourteen properties, four categories, one editor. Corrections are welcome and are dealt with before anything else.
